Amsterdam, Netherlands

We took a train at 9pm from Saarbrucken. We had to change 2 trains in the middle. Then we reached Mannheim(intermediate stop) at about 11pm. From there we took another train to another place called Kalsruhe, then we took the night train there. We realized after going there that we didn’t get the berth. We got reclining seat, that is also comfortable. It can be reclined to a large extent. Then we slept in the train at night.

We woke up at about 7am in the morning, got ready, had some biscuits and chips as breakfast and then we reached Amsterdam by 9am. We went to tourist information center first to find details about the tourist places there. There a lady informed us that we could take tickets for Madame Tussauds(wax statues) at that place only, instead of going there and standing in queue. We checked if we can get any student concession. But the lady told us that there is no student concession available for that and the cost is 19.95 euros.

Then we reached Museum. As soon as we entered inside, it looked like a dungeon(dark room). There is a movie called pirates of carribean. The people there dressed like them and a board is kept saying that heart breaking entrance and only adults above 12 are allowed and no heart patients should go through it, is written on the board. It is very dark everywhere, we entered that place. There are people inside dressed something wierd. Some structures are coming outside into our way as we walked along frightening us. They are coming at regular intervals. I quickly moved from that place. Then after that, we entered a place where they showed us some video about how they make wax models and history of Amsterdam also.

Later we entered the main part of the museum, where there are different wax models of famous people. There are models of John.F.Kennedy, Gandhi, Princess Diana, Ronaldo(Football player), Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Julia Roberts , Spiderman, spice girls, Annie Frank, there are so many wax models like that with different angles and poses.

We took photos with all the models with their poses. Then there is another room with models of Einstein, Monalisa and Pope. We got very much confused with real people and models there. Then there is place where there are some colourful caps and mike. We all wore the caps and took photos as if we are singing there. Then finally we reached the end of the museum. We read on net that there is George Bush structure also in that museum which we didn’t find. So,we asked some staff working there. He took us to the place of Bush, but the statue is missing. Then he told us that may be it is taken for bath đŸ™‚

In Amsterdam(Netherlands country), nothing is illegal. All are legal and nothing is prohibited. There is an area called Red Light Area in Amsterdam and generally all visitors visit that place. I didn’t want to go there but my friends wanted to see. So,we went to that place. There are many girls, standing in a glass door inside the houses. We quickly left that place as that looked wierd.

Then we went to a place which is in the center of city, there is a lake there and big letters of Amsterdam are written on the road.

Actually Amsterdam is called city of canals. There are canals connecting different streets and we can have complete city view if we have canal ride. But the canal ride is 11 euros, we found it to be costly. As we already spent money for entrance of museum, we didn’t have canal ride.

Then we went to railway station to go to a place called Hague. We reached there in 1 hr and then went to see Dutch Parliament building and International court of justice.

Then we left that place and went to another place which is 20 mins from that place called Rotterdam. The buildings in that place are very very big and it is far better than Amsterdam.

There we went to a bridge which is famous and also some tall structure called Euromast. We then reached railway station and went to Brussels to our friends house, where they used to stay for internship. We had home-made dinner and slept quickly.
