Ubud local

Today we started our trip with Ubud temple visit. We had to take a cloth to tie around the legs before entering the temple. I loved their temple architecture, felt very close to south Indian temples.

The temples in Ubud are built for Thrimurthulu (Brahma, Vishnu, Sivudu), three main Hindu gods and they worship nava grahas (9 planets) too. They allow only priests to go inside the main temple. Visitors are not allowed into the main prayer area.

From there, we went to Tegenungan waterfall, which is around 30mins from Ubud. The waterfall is huge and we hiked down to reach the fall. Apparently, the water quantity is less now as it is dry season, in wet season, this would overflow is what we got to know.

We spent sometime near the waterfall and went on to Ubud market. We found an Indian restaurant in Ubud and had the lunch there. We got many options for today’s lunch πŸ™‚

Then went on to shop in Ubud market, the clothes are pretty cheap here and I felt like shopping everything. Got some cotton pants and a wood painting for the house there πŸ™‚

We reached hotel in the afternoon and took some rest. Tomorrow morning, we have to leave Ubud and the hotel(villa). Ubud is very peaceful, calm village in between paddy fields, completely enjoyed the time we have spent here and would suggest this to anyone planning Bali visit.
