Woy Woy

What can we do on a Sunday? Open google maps, spot an exotic spot near the city, find the nearest station and just go around! This worked perfectly for us. We had been to South Sydney many times that we never explored the northern part of it! We found a station surrounded by a national park and has a river in between. That is Woy Woy.

We had no clue of how this place looks like or what it has, but just looking at it geographical location, we wanted to be there. We took a train to Woy Woy (on the way to Newcastle) on a sunday morning and the ride is definitely worth it.

While the south train ride gave us view of the ocean, the north ride took us in between the Hawkesbury river.

We got down at Woy Woy station and walked in the direction of the river.

We reached the bank of the river and found a small bridge to walk on. The place looked amazing, but it felt very hot in the afternoon and couldn’t spend more time there.

This place is our new find and may be we need to plan the timing better next time!
