Jervis Bay had been on my list ever since I got to know that it has the whitest sand beach in the world, as per the Guinness book of records. We couldn’t make it to Jervis bay for Australia day weekend. So, planned ahead for Valentine’s day weekend š
We hired a rental car from Avis and started our journey to the South on a perfect sunny Saturday morning!

There are two routes to reach Jervis Bay: one is along the highway and the other route is along the coast. We took the highway route for our onward journey and planned to take the coastal route on the return trip.
Our first stop is Kiama, a town that comes after Wollongong. It is famous for its blowhole, where sea water shoots up from a hole in between the rocks to the top, by the force of the waves. Blowhole apparently shows up only during windy times and we couldn’t see that. We liked the location more, with rocks in between the ocean and spent some time there in the rocks.

We trekked up to a point in between the rocks to get a closer look of the water there.

The lighthouse looked equally amazing beside the water. We couldn’t find an option to climb this one.

We started back our journey to Jervis Bay to Kiama.

The road leading to Jervis Bay took us in between the trees and it was a scenic drive into the Jervis Bay.

We directly reached Hyam’s beach, famous for its white sand beach, parked our car and jumped into the beach at the first sight of water. Even though it was very sunny, the water felt little cold at the first step. We got used to the temperature of the water once we got into it.

The sand looked shiny white in color that we couldn’t remove our goggles. The beach felt a little touristy and crowded, but we got our own space to enjoy. This was by far the best beach that we have been to in Australia, both in terms of beauty and sand quality.

We went to our Airbnb from the beach and then headed over to Huskisson bay upon suggestion of our host, to spend our evening there. There were many ferries that take us through the bay: Dolphin tour, Sunset tour etc. We missed the tour as all those were closed by the time we reached there(saved it for the next time).

The view from the bay is amazing with clear waters and white sand. The street beside the bay is filled with restaurants and it felt like a perfect place for night-life.
Our Airbnb stay was beside a lake and we reached the place by sunset time. The sunset sky looked simply spectacular! This is one of the best sunsets I have ever witnessed š I always felt bad that Sydney is on the east coast, which made me miss beach sunsets! But this sunset made up for it, I might need to look for more lakes around for sunsets.

On Sunday, we started early and headed back on our return journey to Sydney along the beach.
We stopped at Berry beach, in Berry bay, an hour distance from Jervis bay. To our surprise, the sand color changed from White to Golden. I just wondered on how the sand color changed from one beach to another in a short distance. The berry beach is also good with less crowd and fine sand. We spent good time on the beach and continued our journey.

Next stop was at Mt.Kiera lookout, suggested by my friend. We could get complete view of Wollongong and Kiama from this lookout.

We continued along the beach to reach our all-time favorite Sea Cliff Bridge. Though we visited this bridge earlier, we wanted to stop again as it looked amazing on that sunny day š

We reached Stanwell tops after crossing the bridge and the views from that point were marvellous! We felt like being on the top of the world overlooking the ocean š

We drove back from there and reached home by evening! It felt like a perfect relaxing weekend along the beach side š I am sure we will go back to this place again, showing these places to all our visitors.
