We had to check out of our room at 10am and spend time till afternoon in the city before we return our car and go out to airport.

Christchurch is a beach city and we wanted to visit a beach in NZ and headed to “New Brighton Pier”. We thought it was a tourist walk way to go into the middle of the sea, but we realized that it was built for fishing 🙂

Many people were ready with their fishing nets and along with them, there was a big queue of birds waiting to find a fish 🙂

I observed something strange about the sand color of the beach there, that it was slightly brown in color, not golden, white or black. New Zealand also has some volcanoes and I believe the color of the beach was a result of those.

We found a bunch of small stalls setup near the beach.

We reached Sumner beach from there, which has a cave rock.

I couldn’t stop appreciating Australia’s beaches after looking at Christchurch’s beaches. If someone is looking for good beaches, then Australia makes more sense.

We headed to the airport from there via Harbor.

We returned our rental car, reached the airport very early and waited for our flight.

It was a beautiful country with welcoming people 🙂 We met a couple of locals on our trip and their favorite city happened to be Sydney! As always, I didn’t feel like going back home and wished to stay in the country for more time 😦 Whenever it happens, the next trip, I want to experience a complete different season in NZ (with snow).
