Bouddi Coastal Walk

After around three months of lockdown in Australia, we finally got a chance to take our car outside and go on a long drive. After some research, we found this place which is closer to nature and far away from the city. Sydney is famous for coastal walks. We had already been on three coastal walks so far: 1. Bondi Coogee Walk 2. Royal National park coastal walk 3. Manly to Spit Bridge walk. We enjoyed all these walks and we were more than happy to try this new walk and take our parents along with us.

Bouddi National Park lies along the eastern coast of Australia, 46 kms north of Sydney, on NSW Central Coast. The coastal walk is a relatively easy and diverse hike, stretching 8.5 kms from Putty Beach to McMasters Beach. We parked at the Putty Beach picnic area and decided to walk the first 3km stretch of this walk from the Putty Beach to Maitland Bay.

The views along the walk were amazing with sounds of large waves hitting the rocks. The cloudy weather made the experience surreal.

The colorful rock formations looked beautiful against the ocean backdrop.

We spent sometime near a small secluded Bulliman beach and then we started our journey back, without completing the walk till the bay. Forest+Hills+Ocean – I feel its a perfect combo of nature 🙂

We found a tessellated pavement on our way back, which looked interesting. A tessellated pavement is a relatively flat rock surface that is subdivided into more or less regular rectangles, frequently systematic joints, within the rock.

We felt fascinated by the large waves near the putty beach and we walked closer to the rocks to capture the waves. It was complete fun just standing there waiting for a large tide to hit the rock 🙂

We could have continued the walk further till the Maitland bay, but we had my parents with us who preferred an easy walk and we took the shorter scenic route along the coast. Overall, it was a good relaxing walk with beautiful views and a great recommend.
